By accessing or using the Kavi application and related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the service. These terms apply to all users, including students, educators, and any other visitors. We may update these terms from time to time, and your continued use of Kavi after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Service Description

Kavi is an AI-powered study application that converts photos of notes, textbooks, and worksheets, recorded lectures, and text input into structured study materials including flashcards, quizzes, exam questions, and memory aids. The service uses artificial intelligence to process your content and generate educational materials tailored to your study needs. Kavi is available on iOS and Android platforms with optional premium subscription tiers that unlock additional features and higher usage limits.

3. User Accounts

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your Kavi account. You are solely responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password. Each person may maintain only one active account. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or violate these terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Kavi only for lawful educational purposes. You may not share your account credentials with others, use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service, or attempt to bypass subscription limits or access controls. Uploading illegal, harmful, or offensive content is strictly prohibited. You may not use Kavi to infringe on the intellectual property rights of others, and you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content you submit to the service.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of the content you upload to Kavi, including photos, audio recordings, and text. By uploading content, you grant Kavi a limited, non-exclusive license to process, transform, and store your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. Kavi and its licensors own all rights to the application, branding, technology, and the format and structure of generated study materials. The AI-generated study cards, quizzes, and other outputs are provided for your personal educational use.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

Kavi offers free and premium subscription tiers with varying usage limits and feature access. All premium subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store via RevenueCat, and are subject to the respective store's terms and billing policies. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. To cancel a subscription, you must do so through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store settings on your device. Refunds are handled according to the policies of the respective app store.

7. Disclaimers

Kavi is an educational tool designed to supplement your learning and is not a replacement for qualified instruction, tutoring, or professional academic guidance. We do not guarantee any specific academic results, grades, or outcomes from using the service. AI-generated content, including study cards, quizzes, and tutoring responses, may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies. You should always verify important information with authoritative sources and use your own judgment when studying with AI-generated materials.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kavi and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability for any claims related to the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to Kavi in the twelve months preceding the claim. This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability, whether based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory.

9. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the app settings or by contacting support. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service, engage in abusive behavior, or use the service in a manner that could harm other users or the integrity of the platform. Upon termination, your right to access the service ceases immediately. We will delete your personal data and uploaded content in accordance with our Privacy Policy, typically within 30 days of account deletion.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the use of Kavi shall be resolved in the appropriate courts within the United States. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
